NEW YORK NEIGHBORHOODS: WEST VILLAGE AND GREENWICH VILLAGE

West village Y Greenwich village they are, together with Soho and Tribeca, the quintessential neighborhoods for all lovers of New York and the series: it is here, in fact, where real successes such as Sex in New York were recorded, or where the Friends flat is located. Come on, it is a whole neighborhood-icon, in which one can also walk quietly, forgetting the skyscrapers and feeling as if they were traveling through a small town. Ok, a pretty big town.

There are a few things we wanted to see and do in West village and in Greenwich village, so we prepared a map to not miss anything (we would have done the harakiri if, for any reason, we had missed the cupcake stop at Molly's Cupcake.).

1. Get lost in the streets

It is what made us more excited, we are that simple and shaping (you see that we go cheap). The objective was to spend the soles of our shoes walking the streets of the West Village, with their little houses (brownstones * _ *), the zigzag emergency stairs, the parks and the windows of the many shops in the neighborhood, the smoking sewers , the thousand coffee stalls and the little parks in almost every corner. Buah, wonderful. Not by chance this is one of the most beloved neighborhoods for celebrities and the rich: the same with a little luck you encounter Olivia Palermo or Jennifer Aniston. It is actually a neighborhood loved by everyone, but not everyone can afford to live there.

Beautiful little houses and charming little parks, there are quite a few interesting visits in the Village:

• Village Vanguard, one of the best Jazz clubs in New York.
• Jefferson Market Library, an old market / prison that today is a beautiful and curious bookstore. Another very interesting bookstore is the Strand Bookstore, which has more than 18 miles of books!
• The Friends building (It is located at 90 Bedford Street).
• Wha coffee?, a mythical bar where they played artists like Bob Dylan or Jimmy Hendrix.
• Blue Note Jazz Club: one of the most famous jazz clubs in the world. You can attend one of their live concerts every night after 20:00
• Washington Mews, a cobbled alley that maintains its personal and original air: if you passed through here a few years ago what you would find would be a row of stables, today the sea of ​​pretty (and the sea of ​​rare in a city as vertical as New York). Near there is another street with very interesting federal houses: MacDougal Alley.
• Approach up MacDougal Street, a super lively street with lots of options to eat. Do not miss the historic bar Macdougal Street Ale House.
• Another historic bar, opened in 1854, is the McSorley's Old Ale House, where you can not only take a very cool look, but you can also enjoy the photo collection by reviewing memorable moments and characters.

2. Take a selfie in front of Carrie's house

Rober didn't even know who he was, so it wasn't something that made him especially excited (but then he likes to drink my Cosmopolitan ehhh). It is located at 64 Perry Street, on your visit I was not surprised to see it happen in flesh and blood out there: Sarah Jessica Parker lives right in the area ... what a list!

3. Eat, of course!

How not! And options are not lacking since in the West Village there are some of the most mythical places in the city, such as:

• The best burger in the The Spotted Pig, at 314 West with 11th St.
• The best cupcakes are found in the Molly's Cupcake, even if you don't forget to try the famous ones too Magnolia Bakery (and his banana pudding!).
• The best capuccino in Reggio coffeeApparently it was here that he drank the first United States capuccino.
• You can find the best pizzas (slice) in the Artichoke Pizza, in Joe's Pizza and in Bleecker Street Pizza.
• Another good option to eat in Faicco's With its mouthful mouths.

4. Watch a game at The Cage (or on some street court)

Since Rober approached Carrie's House, I wanted to “reward him” by promising to show him a lot of muscular and handsome uncles playing basketball in one of the city's most famous street courts. Hey, sometimes you have to sacrifice yourself for love * juas juas *. Although to lie, in the end we saw a passing street court and we forgot to approach The Cage!

5. Relax for a little while in Washington Square

It is one of the liveliest places in the neighborhood, where students, tourists, neighbors of the area and old men meet who play chess (and not so oldies!). Washington Square owes its name to the arch that was built in 1892 to commemorate 100 years of the election of George Washington as the first president of the United States.

6. Visit Christopher Park

The West Village is one of the most gay-friendly neighborhoods in New York. The history of the first movements for gay rights can be traced in the Stone wall inn or in the Christopher Park, where the "Gay Liberation Statues" remain in their radiant target. It is also a very quiet area. Near here also begins the Gay St.
