The capital of Austria is the homeland of the sacher cake, but unless you're not a goodie, you will have to eat something else, right? In this post we will recommend you 7 restaurants to eat in Vienna (good and cheap).

Go to Vienna and not eat one Wiener Shnitzel It would be a big, huge mistake. These breaded and fried cutlets are a real treat (and the most typical Austrian dish). There are many restaurants that cook them very well, but Schnitzelwirt's restaurants have a special touch. The menu is quite extensive, the classic Wiener Shnitzel costs about € 7. The cordon bleu also has a pint (€ 12.5). The portions are very abundant so bring hunger with you.

Great site, of those rustic and authentic, to taste some typical dishes of Austria and central Europe. The food is homemade and there is an extensive menu of the day (prices of the dishes € 7-10), although if you go as a couple and you want to eat meat there is a dish for 2 that includes bratwurst sausages, cevapi, shnitzel, grilled chop and potatoes for € 21.

Austria, as well as neighboring Germany, are probably the world homelands of the sausages. But if you think it is a dish that neither suits you nor comes to you ... wait to try them here: they are delicious. In the Bitzinger Wurstelstand Albertina you can eat some of the best, and the best thing is that this street stall It is quite cheap: the sausages cost about 2-4,40 € and the hot dogs about 4,7 € at most. It is located at the little thief of the Opera, so it is a good place to kill the hunger bug and continue discovering Vienna.

This little restaurant shows that you can eat well (and not just cheap) in a fast food. If you are thinking of hamburguer or pizza you are wrong: here it is served Austrian food. There is a menu of about 5 dishes that change weekly and fresh and seasonal ingredients are used. Also recommended for take-out (they serve food in very comfortable cardboard boxes). Prices: around € 8-9.

We couldn't leave without recommending this coffee, where apparently the most famous Austrian dessert was invented: the sacher cake. You do not know what it is? It is a cake of chocolate cake that has a subtle line of apricot jam inside, and is entirely covered with melted chocolate (which gives it a crunchy touch). This place is not exactly cheap (that's why we put it in extra hehe): the cake portion costs € 6.9 but hey, one day is one day!
