The Palermo airport (also calledPunta Raisi airport YFalcone-Borsellino Airport in honor of the judges killed by the mafia) is located about 35 km west of the city. This and Catania, on the other side of the island, are the most important airports in Sicily, and fly low-cost airlines such as Ryanair, Easyjet or Vueling. It is the usual way to arrive. The company's bus service Autolinee Prestia e ComandèIt connects the airport with Palermo Central Station, with several intermediate stops. In total the journey takes about 50 minutes. Cost 6€ One way or € 11 round trip and tickets are purchased at the transport desk inside the airport hall, or on board the bus. The schedule is from 05:00 to 00:15.

Recently the train line (Trinacria Express) that connects the la Punta Raisi station, in the subway of the airport, with the center of Palermo (Palermo Centrale station), with several intermediate stops. The line is operated by Trenitalia and you can buy tickets on its website, or at the ticket office of the station. The tour lasts a little less than 1 hour and costs € 5.90. There are two every hour, at XX: 27 and at XX: 42.

A race from Palermo airport to the city center can cost around € 35-45. You find the taxis at the exit of the arrivals hall.
